In today’s Daily edition, there was a story about many magic circle law firms (Linklaters, Freshfields) and the Big 4 accountancy firms (Deloitte, PWC, KPMG) mentioning they will be cutting off its Russia and Belarus divisions. Among management consultancy firms, Accenture, McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group announced similar actions as well.
Do you agree with their decisions or do you think firms – especially law firms that are to uphold principles of fair representation – should be neutral? Furthermore, many firms have advised clients who have been facing sanctions before. What makes this time different from before?
